Book Testimonials

I first went to Svetlana 7 years ago for my two cats to be groomed. They are longhaired and their fur easily gets very knotted. Svetlana and her team were so gentle and reassuring with Elvis and Priscilla. Thanks to her, the cats have now got their confidence and are happy to go for grooming. I would not take my cats to anyone else as they are so well looked after.

Svetlana has written two books with DVDs that cover the whole cat grooming process, and I think the books are very well presented and I find them to be so beneficial. I am now using the ‘Cat Grooming for Longhaired Cats’ book at home in between the times I take my cats to Svetlana for a professional grooming. I think they would be good for anyone grooming their cats at home or thinking of setting up their own cat grooming business.

This book is a good guide for someone looking to start a career in a cat grooming or for cat owners. It has a lot of visuals and step-by-step guild through the whole grooming process. There is comprehensive information on the tools required to do the job as well.

Dear Svetlana, I just watched your 2 DVDs, short and long haired cats, and enjoyed them a great deal as it is reassuring to watch you work and hear your explanations as a comparison to what I have experienced so far. I guess I am not the first person to mention this … the introduction of the dvd confuses the word professional and makes it, instead, professional, which is an understandable slip and quite amusing in its way. Thanks so much for producing your books and the DVDs as they are a great reference resource.

There are two books with accompanying DVDs available from The Cat Grooming School in London currently. After reading and watching them both I can honestly say I feel confident enough to give grooming my short hair cats a go! Using the guidelines and advice I’ve been able to clip all of their claws in a confident and safe manner so far and want to introduce grooming them slowly and in stages. I love the holistic approach set out in the books. Animal wellbeing is a passion of mine and it’s reassuring to know how important that is to the Cat Grooming School as well and to how they teach and approach their feline clients.

I definitely recommend starting the the short hair cats book and DVD before the long haired one (think of them as volume one and two in an introductory course) and I watched the DVD before reading each book which really helped. Having multiple methods of showing you how to groom cats is really helpful. Having the DVDs as well as written instructions broken into chapters and sections really helped to put all the information together and make it easy to digest. My only issue is I ended up with so many more questions by the end that I cannot wait for the next volume to be written and to start my grooming course!

I am just starting out on my learning curve for cat grooming and found these books so useful.

I bought both books, Grooming Shorthaired Cats and Grooming Longhaired Cats. I found the books very instructive, and the processes easy to comprehend, in conjunction with the diagrams and pictures.

Considering that some of the detail for the two processes is the same, at no point did I feel that the books were duplicated. Each book was really informative, both on the overall process of grooming, along with the details specific to the coat type.

I would highly recommend both books for anyone starting on their cat grooming journey.

After reading through both Grooming Longhaired Cats & Grooming Shorthaired Cats and watching the accompanying DVDs, I would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to bolster their knowledge of the basics of cat grooming.

I was impressed by the level of detail included in both books and the clarity with which information and techniques are explained. Especially helpful are the example photos spread throughout both books which clearly show the techniques being described on the page.

Over the course of both books Svetlana offers a step by step guide on how to perform the basics of a full cat groom and offers an insight into her own personal approach. As well as taking you through a full cat groom Svetlana also highlights the importance of what equipment you choose to use, what protective clothing you should consider and the significance of bonding with the cat you are grooming.

If you are more of a visual learner such as me, you may find the accompanying DVDs to be particularly helpful in understanding the entire grooming process as Svetlana shows how she carries out a full cat groom. It is also incredibly useful to be able to watch the process repeatedly and have a visual resource on hand when learning new techniques or trying to refresh yourself on past learned techniques.

I’ve found that both of the cat grooming books from the Cat Grooming School in London are very informative. The books provide a great insight into how to do basic cat grooming. They provide precise written instructions accompanied with photos of the different stages of the grooming and bathing techniques for long and short haired cats. The DVDs provide clear physical demonstrations of cat grooming which reinforce the information provided in the books.

I’ve found both the books and DVDs very useful and I refer to them regularly to remind me of grooming techniques while I’ve been studying at the Cat Grooming School in London.

Many thanks!

When I was looking for a proper course to start cat grooming, I found the website of the Cat Grooming School owned by Svetlana Broussova. I live in Belgium so it was not my first thought to go to London, but I saw on the Cat Grooming School website they had launched an online course, as well as producing books on basic grooming techniques for both longhaired and shorthaired cats. So I bought both books – I ordered them on a Friday, and by Monday they had arrived! Great service!

I was not experienced at all in grooming but with these perfect manuals I learned so many things, thanks to their very good descriptions with detailed illustrations, and a DVD with each book. These DVDs are of great value because you can see the whole basic cat grooming process.

I have since trained and started a career as a Cat Groomer. I think these books are an ideal guidance for people beginning as a professional cat groomer, and also for cat owners who want to do some grooming themselves at home.

I really like the books – the instructions and pictures are very clear and it gives a very easy to follow step-by-step guide to basic cat grooming techniques. I really like how it emphasises bonding with the cat and that all is done with love and respect. Lovely books, I just hope they doesn’t do us all out of a job! 🙂

As a professional cat groomer of some 15yrs I believe there is always more to learn, so was pleased to see this new publication about cat grooming shorthaired cats (as well as the 2nd book in the series, Grooming Longhaired Cats). There are assumptions that shorthaired coats don’t need much attention, but I see many such cats at my grooming studio whose coats greatly benefit from grooming.

This book is a wonderful educational resource covering basic grooming techniques and, importantly, emphasising gentle and compassionate handling, so that the grooming process is a positive experience for the cat. With its lovely clear photographs and descriptions throughout, and the accompanying DVD which demonstrates the techniques outlined in the book, it is the ideal manual for both new experienced cat groomers, as well as owners, wishing to learn more about grooming their own cats.

I have just purchased these books, “Grooming Longhaired Cats – Basic Cat Grooming Techniques” and “Cat Grooming Shorthaired Cats – Basic Cat Grooming Techniques”

Having spent the last year looking for a book on the subject of cat grooming, I have found these two books the most informative on the market.

The books are clear and concise with helpful drawings and photographs. The added benefit of the CD with each books makes it a brilliant guide to basic cat grooming techniques.

Both books are worth every penny and I would recommend to anyone with an interest in cat grooming, whether in a professional capacity or just for caring for their own cat.
